The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is soliciting:
The IPPC Secretariat periodically issues calls for existing phytosanitary technical resources developed by NPPOs, RPPOs and other organizations that may be shared with the IPPC community. The submitted materials are reviewed by the Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC) against established criteria. Suitable materials are made available on the IPP as Contributed Resources (https://www.ippc.int/en/core-activities/capacity-development/guides-and-training-materials/contributed-resource-list/).
The aim of this call is to collect additional resources that may be shared among NPPOs and other stakeholders.
What kinds of resources are needed?
Phytosanitary technical resources and case studies (e.g. manuals, standard operating procedures, advocacy materials, factsheets, infographics, training materials, risk assessments, guidelines, tools). In particular, technical resources related to (i) e-Commerce, (ii) Pest Risk Analysis (PRA) and (iii) Pest Outbreak Alert and Response Systems are needed.

ii. Pest Risk Analysis (PRA):
The IPPC Secretariat participates in the FAO support to Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) trade facilitation programme - Food Safety Component. One activity aims at building the capacities of COMESA Member States to establish national teams for Pest Risk Analysis.
Technical resources that can be used as the basis for Pest Risk Analysis (PRA) training for COMESA Member States, including:
1- Fall Armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda),
2- fruit flies (Bactrocera spp.),
3- Banana Bunchy Top Virus (BBTV),
4- Fusarium wilt TR4 (Fusarium oxysporum f sp cubense Tropical Race 4),
5- Maize Lethal Necrosis Disease and
6- Tomato Leaf Miner (Tuta absoluta).
iii. Pest Outbreak Alert and Response Systems:
Technical resources and case studies for both Pest Outbreak Alert and Response Systems and other types of Alert and Response Systems in:
How do I submit resources?
Please send us with web links or files (pdf, power point presentations…etc) of your resources as well as the following information using the form (https://www.ippc.int/en/publications/88267/)
If the resources are provided by files (pdf, power point presentations…etc) instead of web links, please also fill out the FAO permission request form (https://www.ippc.int/en/publications/88268/) and send it to us as FAO requests a non-exclusive license to publish the resources in the FAO Document Repository at : http://www.fao.org/documents for the IPPC Secretariat to share the resources on the IPP as Contributed Resources.

Languages?
Please note that the phytosanitary technical resources can be contributed in any language. However, please ensure that the title and a summary or description of the content of each resource is translated into one of the United Nations (UN) languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish), preferably English.
Resources that are submitted in a UN language will be prioritized for IC review.
Deadline:
Submissions are due 30 June 2020.
Please note that submitted resources will be reviewed by the IC according to established criteria and may not be posted on the IPP.
