The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is calling for:
Purpose
The Capacity Development Committee (IC) set an IC Team on Banana Fusarium Wilt (TR4) in August 2021. Since its establishment, the IC Team on Fusarium TR4, together with the IPPC Secretariat has completed the following activities:
As Fusarium TR4 spreads further and continues to threaten the global banana and plantain industry, the Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (May 2023) requested the Secretariat to issue a call for additional contribution of resources to contribute to the development of a surveillance and diagnostics course including simulation exercises on Fusarium TR4.
Technical resources and in particular training materials that provide information on the following Fusarium TR4 items will contribute to development of the IPPC simulation exercises, surveillance and diagnostic training courses.
How do I submit resources?
If you have technical resources that you think would be suitable for the above purposes, please e-mail them to the IPPC Secretariat by e-mail [email protected] with copy to Ms. Maimouna Abass ([email protected]) and Ms. Rokhila Madaminova ([email protected]) (with “TR4 technical resources- COUNTRY NAME” in the subject line) accompanied by a completed submission form (https://www.ippc.int/en/publications/88267/). It is preferred if the technical resources are provided via a web link to the information, however, if it is not posted on the internet, the resources may be provided by files (pdf, MS PowerPoint, MS Word etc.), and in these cases an FAO permission request form (http://www.ippc.int/en/publications/88268/) must also be completed and submitted along with the material. This gives FAO a non-exclusive license to publish the resources in the FAO Document Repository (http://www.fao.org/documents) and facilitates the sharing of this information by the IPPC Secretariat on the IPP as Contributed Resources.
Languages
Please note that the phytosanitary technical resources can be contributed in any language. However, please ensure that the title and a summary or description of the content of each resource are translated into one of the official FAO languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) and in English if possible.
Resources that are submitted in an FAO language will be prioritized for review.
Deadline: Submissions are due on 31 July 2023.
