Contracting parties, governments, United Nations agencies, inter-governmental, nongovernmental, regional and international organizations are invited to present a poster, hold an exhibit, or host a side event during the 7th session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM) to be held in Rome, Italy from 19 to 23 March 2012, and will include the 60th anniversary of the IPPC which came into force in April 1952.
These events and any information presented should have direct relevance to the purpose and activities of the IPPC (https://www.ippc.int/index.php?id=1110600).
Please also bear in mind the following: • Exhibitors who are not part of an official delegation (e.g. those from non-governmental agencies) will be able to observe the plenary session but will not be able to take the floor. • As an exhibitor, you are able to share information and demonstrate your materials in the poster session or in the side event, but the rules of the Food and Agriculture Organization prohibit you from selling materials and conducting transactions. You may provide contact details but direct sales are not allowed. • The information that you provide is on the behalf of your organization and does not necessarily reflect the views of or presume endorsement by the IPPC Secretariat, CPM or FAO and it should not be represented as such.
Please indicate your intention to host or present one of the above (i.e. poster, exhibit, side event) by completing the attached registration form at your earliest convenience but no later than 1st February 2012. Please also note that there will be a limit to the number of posters, exhibits and side events. All participating organizations are kindly requested to make a contribution (suggested donation of 210 USD or more) to the IPPC trust fund to cover the basic costs. The IPPC Secretariat will provide poster presenters with poster stands. Organizations are required to cover all additional costs, such as provision of audio-visual equipment associated with the poster sessions. Should your organization have requirements that incur a cost to the IPPC Secretariat, we will contact you regarding the recovery of these costs.
