The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat will deliver an intensive two-week training course on Developing Phytosanitary Capacities from Monday 29th of May until Friday 9th of June at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (CIHEAM-IAM Bari) for the second time.
This course will be provided to the 15 students of the Master 2 on Sustainable Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technologies for Mediterranean Fruit and Vegetable Crops from all over the Mediterranean. The course is also open to 10 NPPO staff, worldwide.
This training builds on the IPPC technical guides: Establishing an NPPO, Operation of an NPPO, Managing relationships with stakeholders, etc.
The curriculum is made up of general presentations on the IPPC, International Standards on Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs), activities of NPPOs, and interactive exercises. Trainees will work in groups of 3 or 4 to elaborate case studies and share their results with other trainees.

The course is free of charge. Participants will be responsible for the cost of their travel and accommodation.
