Interested users can now register to the 47th session of the Committee on World Food Security’s side event: Ensuring the human right to adequate food for sustainable food systems that will take place on Tuesday, 9 February 2021 from 1 to 2.15 PM (CET). The event is organized by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Spain and the Friends of the Right to Food, in collaboration with FAO and the IPPC Secretariat.
Protecting plants from pests and diseases contributes to food security and the eradication of hunger. Every year up to 40% of the global food crops are lost due to pests. Ensuring plant health is key to assure the right to adequate food for everyone, especially during the COVID-19 crisis. Addressing multiple actors and stakeholders is necessary to build a more inclusive and sustainable food system for the post-pandemic world.
